Couple of cats designed by OXYGAMI.
➽ 𝗠𝗔𝗞𝗘 𝟯𝗗 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗖𝗔𝗧𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨𝗥𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗙 (𝗬𝗘𝗦 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗖𝗔𝗡!)
These are 2 separate downloadable PDF templates that you will soon be turning into real, almost life-sized 3D paper cats using scissors & glue.
Gus and Gevenieve are siblings that used to squabble all the time over their mother's attention. Now look at them, they are inseparable. Seems like squabbles make bonds stronger.
They will add some still movement to a shelf, a desk, a chest of drawers or a bookcase, leaving all your guests in awe of your talent as a maker. Your guests will probably want you to make a another pair for them too!
Make the cats together on a rainy weekend, or while watching the evening show, or during your sleepless nights...
You will be so focused that you won't have time to think about anything else than being in the moment.
Decide on the colour of your paper, get crafty, and once you’re done building them, delight at your creative genius!
➽ 𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗘 𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗘

- home A4 or Letter size printer
- 19 cardstock sheets
- 16 sheets of regular office paper (for the instructions and tips)
- scissors
- scoring tool (dried-out pen, your nails, etc., be creative!)
- ruler

➽ 𝗢𝗣𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗜𝗦𝗘𝗗 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗕𝗢𝗧𝗛 𝗔𝟰 & 𝗟𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗘𝗥
Just print at 100% and you are good to go
You can also print on A3 and scale it up to 141%, but this will be more difficult to make!
➽ 𝗣𝗔𝗣𝗘𝗥 𝗜 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗
A4 / Letter size in 160-210 gsm / 65 lbs cover
You can use either white cardstock and spray paint it, or coloured/patterned cardstock. I recommend against metallic paper, which takes longer to dry.
For all my prototypes, I personally use Iris Vivaldi® by Canson® in 185 gsm, which comes in 50-sheet reams. They have 30 colours to choose from.
Brands like Recollections®, Astrobrights®, Clairefontaine®, to name a few, are also good options.
You can also go creative with patterned paper provided that it is thick enough.
For a cheaper alternative, go for Bristol paper, but it usually comes in white. You may then need to use spray paint it (in bronze, gold, silver, etc.), which is good for concealing potential glue smears.
➽ 𝗚𝗟𝗨𝗘 𝗜 𝗥𝗘𝗖𝗢𝗠𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗗
Any wood glue or any craft glue will do.
Fast drying one is a plus, but it is optional.
I personally pour some wood glue into a metallic lid. Then I apply a few drops onto the tabs with a toothpick before I spread them out in a thin layer. You need very few glue!
➽ 𝗜𝗙 𝗬𝗢𝗨 𝗗𝗔𝗥𝗘 …
Make them smaller!

With this design:
You 𝙢𝙖𝙮:
- - - gift the finished sculptures made from my templates.
You 𝙢𝙖𝙮:
- - - occasionally sell the finished paper sculpture that you put together as long as:
* you do not make a business out of my work
* you purchased the digital template from me
* and you do not infringe upon someone else's copyright: You will be safe if you use your own pictures and do not mislead people into believing that you are the designer (by embedding your logo or watermark in the pictures without crediting the designer, for example).
You 𝙢𝙖𝙮:
- - - share the files with close family (your best friend is not family...).Your relatives will then have to comply to the same copyright laws and rules as you do.
You 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙉𝙊𝙏
- - - share the files beyond close family members.
You 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙉𝙊𝙏
- - - give away, publish, sublicense or resell the files in their digital form or in the shape of paper kits, be it [as is], [modified] or [translated].
You 𝙢𝙖𝙮 𝙉𝙊𝙏
- - - copy/imitate the design. It severely irritates me when people do that.
Fairly fair, right?
